Border View YMCA is located at the south border of the U.S. looking over Tijuana, Mexico. The proposed facility is designed to be joint-use with the adjacent junior high school, offering a swimming pool, gymnasium, and fitness center for their physical education programs.

The long span, column-free spaces were designed with the limited budget, which made us select the application of a pre-engineered steel structure. The durable insulated cladding panels were chosen to ensure the indoor space quality while maintaining the aesthetics and conserving energy use.

The concept of a large open plan, which visually links each space is naturally lit by the introduction of Kalwall panels. They also signify the facility's existence by glowing at night.
